Opening acts start at 7:30 pm, with headliners at 8:15 p.m.
Friday, June 30th (rain date July 1st) – The series begins with the Hamden Volunteer Firefighter’s Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display on featuring the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldier’s Chorus from 7:15-8:45pm. D.J. Bry will entertain before and after the concert. Fireworks start around: 9:15 PM. In the event the fireworks are postponed due to inclement weather, the Army Field Band will perform on the night of June 30th at the Hamden High School- first come, first serve.
Friday, July 7th: George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic
Boasting three platinum albums, 40+ hit R&B singles and a recent performance at renowned music festival, Coachella, George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic will grace the Town Center Park stage bringing with them the sounds of their signature soul/funk fusion that revolutionized R&B music during the 70’s. Heavily influenced by James Brown and Sly Stone, George Clinton’s extravagant performance is sure to get concert goers dancing in and out of their seats.

Friday, July 14th: The Manhattans
The Manhattans are a classic R&B quintet vocal group that has achieved incredible career longevity due to their ever adapting musical style. Starting out as a doo-wop act in the early 60’s, the group reinvented themselves as soulful balladeers during the 70’s, boasting a line-up of soul-aching harmonies that have transcended into today’s mainstream channels. Their most popular songs are “Kiss and Say Goodbye” and “I Wanna Be Your Everything”. Opening Act: TBA.
Friday, July 21st: The Fabulous Thunderbirds
A quintessential American band, the Fabulous Thunderbirds have been performing their high-energy, hybrid-style of blues/R&B/rock for over 30 years. Touring in both the U.S. and Europe, the group’s music has not only enjoyed commercial success but has also earned the veneration of similar, estimable musicians such as Muddy Waters. Some of their popular songs include, “Wrap it Up” and “Tuff Enuff”.

Friday, July 28th: Gary Puckett and the Union Gap
One of the most successful music groups of the 60’s, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap have performed on more than thirty network television shows and specials during their time together. With six consecutive gold records, some of their most popular songs include, “Young Girl”, “Woman Woman” and “Lady Willpower”. Opening Act: Hard Road.
